The BLS course is held over a 1 day period and consists of 2 sessions covering the following information:
- Aging
- Changes with Age
- Communication and Assessment
- Communicating with Older People and Their Caregivers
- Assessment of the Older Patient and Pharmacology
- End of Life Care Issues
- Trauma, Musculoskeletal Disorders, and Falls
- Immobilization
- Neurological Emergencies and Altered Mental Status
- Respiratory and Cardiovascular Emergencies
- Elder Abuse and Neglect
Scenarios and Skills Stations include:
- Communication Challenges
- Conducting a Patient Assessment Interview
- Do Not Resuscitate Orders
- Stroke
- Immobilization

BLS Course Schedule
The ALS course is held over 1 1/2 days and consists of 3 sessions.
It includes the BLS course plus the following:
- Pharmacology and Medication Toxicity Emergencies
- Psychiatric Emergencies
- Intravenous Therapy
